Super Smash Brothers: Brawl

Super Smash Brothers: Brawl
The highly successful franchise Super Smash Brothers has newest game Super Smash Brothers; Brawl for the Wii is a large success in the MLG arena. In the Super Smash Brothers up to four players dual it off against each other in this platform fighter. The object is not to kill your opponents but to knock them off of the playing stage. The game features an array of Nintendo characters from everyone’s favourite Mario to Pikachu to Ness a classic character from one of Nintendo’s early games. The uniqueness of this game is what makes it fun because it is not like a regular fighter game where you just run at your opponent and smash buttons until he is dead. Super Smash Brothers: Brawl takes a lot of skill to be good or rather yet to be MLG.

MLG Origins

MLG Origins
Well like many other fads MLG began as a small group of people who enjoyed playing video games. What began as a small organization which mostly made tournaments for the fun of it has turned into a multi million dollar industry. Sponsors for MLG range from Dr. Pepper to Microsoft. Microsoft does play a major role in MLG just as other high gaming companies such as Sony and Nintendo do. The success of MLG is largely due to the games themselves and how they can be so very addictive for many people.

Just Another Day

Just Another Day
Typical work days are eight hours a day and 40 hours a week Monday through Friday but to be professional video gamer the hours can be exhausting. To become a professional video gamer requires dedication and hundreds and thousands of hours playing games and honing your skills. Typically MLG teams practice almost every day for long sessions that can range up to twelve hours or more before tournaments. After tournaments players may also sleep for sixteen hours a day also. This type of dedication is what makes them the best. A professional athlete spends hundreds of hours working on the perfect jump shot or the right swimming technique. Professional video gamers are no different they spend a tedious amount of time and small details to make their skills superb to all others.

Professional Gamers

Professional Gamers

MLG is a large franchise with many fans and professional gamers which are associated with it. The professional players and MLG are also highly endorsed by companies such as Dr. Pepper and many other powerful f corporations.

Two of the most well known professional gamers are most likely Tom Taylor aka Tsquared and also David Walsh, Walshey. Other notable MLG players are ogre1 and ogre2 which are twins and are both premier players in Halo 3.

Walshy and Tsquared both are largely endorsed by Red Bull and Dr Pepper respectively. Many professional gamers are endorsed much like NASCAR racers are and its how they make money to do what they do.

Many MLG players also have personal blogs with information about them and their team this information is available at http://www.mlgpro.com/content/page/145655/Top-MLG-Pro-Blogs.

Winning tournaments is another way that professional gamers make their living. Many of these tournaments can pay out large prizes to the winning team. Most players though are not rich because of their choice to be a professional gamer.
